WinspearAmaniLickPopular cheetah Winspear and his labrador retriever best friend, Amani, are the stars of our Cheetah Encounter in ZooNorth. The animal ambassadors demonstrate their ability to use speed as a natural adaptation for survival.

Speed is a critical factor for many animals, allowing predators to catch food and prey to escape. Cheetahs can run up to 70 mph, making them the fastest land mammals in the world. During the Cheetah Encounter, other animals also show off their natural maneuverability, including African guineafowl, a trumpeter hornbill and others.

The Cheetah Encounter is located near the Pierre A. Fontaine Herpetarium, Picnic Ridge, and the T-Rex Express mini train. Presentations last approximately 15 minutes.

Show Times (weather permitting)
